ADDRESS AND/OR NAME CHANGE
ADDRESS CHANGE 1.  It is not necessary to obtain a new Maryland driver's license for an address change, unless you have a CDL commercial driver's license. 2.  Forms are available at Norman's. 3.  Requires individual's signature.     A.  It takes Norman's just one business day to process.     B.  Individual will receive two address correction cards in the mail in seven to ten days.  One to carry with your Maryland driver's license and the other to attach to a registration card or keep as a spare. NAME CHANGE 1.  Name change through a marriage requires a copy of the marriage certificate.     A.  To hyphenate a surname you can not exceed thirty characters. 2.  Name change through a divorce requires a copy of the divorce decree.     A.  An individual may reassume a name previously used, provided the name is used openly, consistently, and without fradulent intent.     B.  To assume your birth name, or other former name, which can not be verified by MVA, you must provide additional documentation.  Call Norman's for more information. 3.  Name change through a court order requires the court-ordered documents. 4.  Name change for someone possessing a CDL driver's license.     A.  The name change form will not be accepted.  The individual must apply for a corrected CDL driver's license.
