Norman's Tags and Title

MARYLAND HAS TWO TYPES OF ANTIQUE VEHICLES:
    HISTORIC CLASS AND STREET ROD CLASS
HISTORIC CLASS

1.  Vehicle is not substantially altered, remodeled, or remanufactured from its original construction and is at least 20 years of age (1988 and older)
2.  Permament Historic registration can be issued if the vehicle is 60 years and older, a one-time fee applies.
 


STREET ROD CLASS

Vehicle has been substantially altered from the original condition and is at least 25 years of age (1988 and older).


HISTORIC AND STREET ROD VEHICLES AVOID THE FOLLOWING:

1.  Maryland Safety Inspection
2.  Emission Test (VEIP)



OBTAINING HISTORIC OR STREET ROD TAGS WITH A TITLE TRANSFER:

1.  Must meet the criteria to be classed as a Historic or a Street Rod vehicle
2.  See TITLE TRANSFER section.



OBTAINING HISTORIC OR STREET ROD TAGS AFTER A TITLE TRANSFER:

1.  Must meet the criteria to be classed as a Historic or Street Rod vehicle.
2.  See LOST TAGS/ STICKERS section.


VINTAGE TAGS

1.  You must meet the following criteria to display Vintage Tags:
    A.  The vehicle must be classed as a Historic and you purchase the historic tags.
    B.  Or the vehicle is classed as a Street Rod and you purchase the Street Rod tags.
    C.  Your vintage tag(s) must be Maryland issued.
    D.  Your vintage tag(s) must be the same year as your vehicle.
    E.  You must have the same number of tag(s) that were issued in that year.
    F.  Your vintage tag(s) must be the same color as the year they were issued.
